We're Mariella and Mike, an Anglo-Sardinian couple living in the UK.
Mariella is from Sardinia – born in Nuoro and raised in Porto Torres before moving to the UK fifteen years ago for work. Her local knowledge and family connections give her access to the island's hidden gems: quiet beaches, authentic family-run restaurants, and places most tourists never discover.
Mike first visited Sardinia eight years ago when he met Mariella. Since then, we've explored the island together while spending time with family. Having experienced Sardinia as a first-time visitor, Mike understands the challenges and pleasant surprises that await newcomers.
We now travel to Sardinia several times a year, combining family visits with exploring new areas of this beautiful island.
Sardinia isn't the most straightforward destination – it lacks the polished infrastructure of other Mediterranean spots. But this lack of overdevelopment is precisely what makes it special and authentic.
